Your Response to the COVID-19 opportunities
Worldwide, the last few days have brought challenges that none of us ever could have imagined.
The fear of being infected by this still very unknown virus is causing havoc and will change the world you live in forever.
This fear can rob you of hope, opportunity, creativity and strength – everything you will need to beat it.
December 2019 I wrote about a ‘Sustainable Slow Purposeful 2020’ and had overwhelming messages from you.
What about using COVID-19 to help get you there?
As you know Caleb and I were on his tour (read family tour during) in Asia.
The Philippines had massive safety precautions in place before we had arrived already.
More extreme measures unfortunately meant that the Musical Production was put on hold and we had to leave Manila urgently.
With that our 9 month travel plan too.
Of course we could make this the worst thing that has ever happened as it has massive financial etc implications for us.
Or we can decide to make the most of this opportunity and learn from this.
Initial self-quarantine or isolation holds so opportunities.
Looking past what you are not able to change.
Focusing on what you have control over.
Personally this is going to be an interesting journey.
Businesses will struggle financially. Families will struggle financially.
For the world, I believe an eye opener to how we have completely lost focus of what is really important.
An opportunity to refocus and set new, sustainable, slower, purposeful lives.
The chances that my family and I will get this virus is 99% guaranteed.
You too.
I don’t fear that though.
Neither should you.
Instead focus on your holistic well being – mind, body and soul, and whatever comes your way, you’ll be able to beat it.
I was forwarded a poem written by Kitty O’Meara or Irene Vella.
I think it is an inspirational reality.
Your hope and opportunity in a time like this.

In the Time of Pandemic by Kitty O’Meara / Irene Vella
And the people stayed home. And they read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And they listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live, and they healed the earth fully, as they had been healed.
