Sustainable Slow Purposeful 2020
Recently I read an interesting piece on ‘The Next Global Security Threat’.
Global security, is the measures taken by states and international organizations, such as the United Nations, European Union, and others, to ensure mutual survival and safety for humans on Earth.
Current reality is that the number of new diseases per decade has increased nearly fourfold over the last 60 years, and since 1980, the number of outbreaks per year has more than tripled.
The piece written specifically referred to a disease from China which started as a poultry flu and became a killer virus when it jumped to humans. This was something rather unique.
Of course you cannot always manage the start of a disease as it is caused by many uncontrollable matters.
But your reaction or treatment to it or future diseases is in your domain.
I’m no historian but I do understand that treatments to diseases over the millennia came about mostly from natural treatments.
And if you died, that was just part of life.
Come 20th century and humans desire to live forever become an almost addiction.
Research and more is done still daily, billions of dollars spent to save every person to live on a polluted planet and damage it even more.
Maybe diseases are there to control the sustainable relationship humans have with Earth?
Diseases are part of the natural cycle.
Important discoveries because of diseases lead to amazing life threatening opportunities.
So what about living in the moment next year (today already)?
Being open to discoveries?
Purposeful gratefulness?
Sustainable habits to connect with your family and interests (again)?
What if your unsustainable lifestyle is causing these diseases even?
Thing is that life is passing you by.
You not allowing yourself time to pause, breath and decide which direction you heading next.
Holidays are way to short to recoup and strategize for new beginnings.
No time for new insights to slow purposeful living.
Just the motion of the race, the hamster wheel!
And to survive you usually just spend more money to help find cures to make you live longer to hopefully catch up later.
What about spending that time and money on something for you and your loved and precious ones?
Pause. In 2020.
Commit to slow living.
Honor yourself to purpose next year.
Sustainable mindfulness to really quite the noise and hear yourself.
Respecting your life giving boundaries?
2019 was a tough year for most.
But if you were to commit to new ideas for your own life and career 2020 can be life altering.
You bloody deserve it!
See you on the other side.
