Charting New Territory: Your Role in the Sharing Revolution

The electricity rates have just increased. AGAIN.
President Trump and Elon Musk just announced some new view and the world reacts.
An Sicilian volcano erupts and throws out your summer holiday plans.
Where is it going to stop?
The worst part is that these unimaginable unplanned challenges come your way and have massive financial implications to your family, business and communities.

One of the many examples every day, increasingly, affecting your life like never before.
What can you do to be less reactive to these happenings and still stay on course with your own plans – personal and career or business?

A decade ago I wrote an article on LinkedIn which gained more than 12,000 views.

Until then I had never received so much feedback from a piece I had written.
What made this article really resonate with so many of my followers and their connections?
How does it relate to this blog post?

It is all about conscious awareness.
Continued focused conscious self worth valuation and validation.

Self Worth Valuation

The aim with this focus is to be aware of what you value as important and non negotiable in your own life.
Some people chase wealth of assets.
Some can only breath with freedom and adventures.
Once you have clarified this within yourself, a true sense of confidence joins you on the journey which makes every uphill or challenge just a need for extra fuel, never a train smash.

Self Worth Validation

This is the true test and when achieved the most rewarding.
Once you honor yourself and your uniqueness’s, a whole new world suddenly appears.
A world of possibilities.
The more you do it, the stronger your muscle of validation gets. The stronger the muscle, the better the body and mental systems.
Which all in return increase your confidence.

The first test was to sign up with a House Swap website and plan an international holiday.
Our home was our value.
Our validation was the pure need for adventure and discovery.
We found a home in Jerusalem for a 3 weeks stay. The house even included the use of vehicle.

Accommodation was sorted. Local travel was sorted too.
Next up were flights.

We listed our home on Airbnb and within a week, an international family contacted us to rent our home in the middle of the term.
This wasn’t the ideal dates but if we were willing to spend time with friends and family for that week, our flights would be paid. Done!
A wonderful holiday abroad and we only had to let go of certain perceptions around privacy in our own home.
We gained so much more though,
The family is still in agreement – we can not travel any other way anymore.

This is but one example for us as a family.
We share what we have with others to get something else we want.
With added experiences – a win-win for everyone.

How about doing a proper balance sheet check for your family and yourself?
What about the same exercise for your career or business?
Without a doubt, this exercise seems daunting but working with a professional coach takes all the pressure off as you find a collaborative partner cheering you and your future goals to life the best version of yourself.
Balancing wants and needs against assets (physical and other) makes for an exciting new look at life.
Remembering that this was how the sharing economy businesses, Airbnb and UBER started after all.

What about you start your own sharing adventure?
I hope to hear how you change your life and the lives of others through it.
